Your YouTube transcripts, from your own device

YouTube blocks cloud servers with its anti-bot check, which is why the remote MCP server cannot fetch transcripts itself. The CamMicGo app makes the request from your phone or computer, over your own connection, and gets the timestamped transcript.

On a computer you have two options: the computer app relays transcripts for the remote MCP server (Claude, ChatGPT), like the phone; the local MCP server fetches transcripts itself for Claude Desktop, Cursor or Gemini CLI, with no relay.

How the transcript reaches your assistant

The remote MCP server cannot reach YouTube itself. It hands the request to your paired device, which handles it over your connection and sends the result back.

Get started in 4 steps

  1. Install the app

    Android APK from this page, or the computer app for Windows, macOS and Linux.

  2. Ask your assistant for a code

    In Claude or ChatGPT connected to CamMicGo, ask “give me a CamMicGo pairing code”. You get a code like ABCD-2345, valid for 10 minutes.

  3. Pair

    Type the code in the app and confirm. Connected mode starts on its own.

  4. Request transcripts

    For example “get the transcript of this YouTube video”. Your device fetches it and the assistant receives the timestamped text.

Two limits set by Android

Deep sleep can cut network access

When the phone stays idle with its screen off, Android may suspend apps’ network access to save battery (“Doze”). Requests then wait unanswered.

What to do
  • While you request transcripts, keep the phone awake or charging.
  • In Settings › Apps › CamMicGo SEO MCP › Battery, choose “Unrestricted”.
  • If the assistant says “pending”, wake the screen: the request is handled as soon as the network is back (it stays valid for 10 minutes).

About 6 hours a day on Android 15

Android 15 limits background sync services to about 6 hours per 24 hours. Past that, the system stops connected mode and the app says so.

What to do
  • Turn on connected mode only when you need it.
  • If it was stopped, open the app and turn connected mode back on.
  • Android 14 and earlier, and the computer app, are not affected.

Fetched transcripts are cached for 30 days, so the same video never needs your device again.

You can unpair a device at any time in the app (“Dissocier”) or ask your assistant to revoke it (tool device_revoke). The app only receives YouTube video IDs, never commands.

WITHOUT AN AI ASSISTANT

Use the app on its own

Share a video from the YouTube app to “CamMicGo SEO MCP”, or paste its link. The transcript appears with [mm:ss] timestamps: copy it, export it (SRT, VTT, TXT, JSON) or share it. The original language is selected by default, and the list of the video’s other available languages lets you pick another one.
