Your computer fetches the transcripts

YouTube blocks cloud servers. When you use the remote MCP server (Claude, ChatGPT…), this small app downloads the captions over your own connection and sends them back to your assistant: exactly like the Android app, on your PC or Mac.

Using the local MCP server? You don’t need it: it already fetches transcripts itself.

  1. Double-click CamMicGo-Relay-Windows.exe.
  2. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click “More info” then “Run anyway” (the app is not signed yet).
  3. A console window opens and your browser shows the control page.

macOS

  1. Open the .zip, then double-click CamMicGo-Relay.
  2. If macOS blocks it: System Settings › Privacy & Security › “Open Anyway”, then launch it again.
  3. Terminal opens and your browser shows the control page.

Ask your assistant for a code

In Claude or ChatGPT connected to CamMicGo SEO MCP: “Generate a CamMicGo pairing code for my computer.”

Type it in the control page

8-character code (e.g. ABCD-2345), valid for 10 minutes, single use.

Leave the app open

Connected mode starts on its own. Ask for a transcript or a whole channel: your computer handles it.

Frequently asked questions

Does the computer need to stay on?

Yes: the relay works while its window is open and the computer is awake. During sleep, requests wait up to 10 minutes (several hours for a channel batch) and resume on wake.

Phone and computer together?

Yes. Pair both: the first available device takes each request. For a 50-video batch the computer is faster and has no battery limit.

What if YouTube rate-limits my connection?

The video goes back into the queue and the relay pauses for 5 to 30 minutes, then resumes automatically.

My data?

The device token is stored in ~/.cammicgo-seo-mcp/relay.json, readable only by you. The control page is only reachable from this computer (127.0.0.1). Unpairing revokes the token.
